Wix SEO help in Japan – fix what Wix can do, migrate only when it pays off
"Our Wix site never shows up in Google" is a common complaint, and most of the time the cause lies in how the site was set up. Wix has solid built-in SEO tools, and using them properly fixes a lot. This page covers what Wix can do for search, the usual weak points, the fixes we apply step by step, and how to tell when a move to another platform is the better investment.
- Free demo – decide after you see it
- By message, in Japanese or English
- One person from demo to launch

What Wix SEO tools can do out of the box
Wix has improved its search features a lot over the years, and the basics of Wix SEO need no extra apps. Knowing what the dashboard offers makes it much easier to decide what to fix first.
- Per-page SEO settings: title tag, meta description, URL slug and whether the page is indexed
- SEO Setup Checklist: a guided setup that includes connecting Google Search Console
- Sitemap and robots.txt: the sitemap is generated automatically and robots.txt can be edited in the dashboard
- URL Redirect Manager: 301 redirects from old to new addresses, managed in one list
- Structured data: custom JSON-LD markup can be added per page
- Image alt text: set per image, with images converted to lighter formats automatically
- Multilingual: Wix Multilingual creates language versions and adds hreflang tags for you
So the tools are there. What they need is page-by-page work – left at their defaults, they do very little.
Why Wix sites get missed in search
Drag-and-drop freedom is what makes Wix easy, and the same freedom often creates search problems. These are the issues we see most on Wix sites that come to us:
- Every page has the same title and description – usually just the site name
- Headings are picked for font size, so H1 and H2 tags do not reflect the page structure
- Key information such as service names or the area you serve exists only as text inside images
- The site is still on a free plan with a "wixsite.com" address
- Animations, videos and stacked apps make pages slow on phones
- Everything sits on one long page, with no separate page per service
- Search Console was never connected, so nobody sees indexing status or errors
The more of these apply, the more room there is to improve. Start by checking the titles and headings of your main pages. For the general basics, see our guide to SEO for business websites.
Send us your URL and we will show you the improved structure in a free demo.
The Wix SEO fixes we apply, in order
When we take on a Wix site, we work through these steps. They are ordered by impact, so the same order works if you do it yourself.
- Domain and Search Console: confirm the site runs on your own domain, submit the sitemap and review indexing
- Page structure: give each service or area people search for its own page
- Titles and descriptions: write them per page, matching the words searchers actually use
- Headings and body text: one H1 per page, clear H2 and H3 sections, and real text in place of text-in-images
- Speed: compress large images, remove unused apps and cut heavy effects to lighten mobile pages
- Structured data: markup for your business details, FAQs and similar content
- Tracking and maps: GA4 setup and, for local businesses, a well-kept Google Business Profile (MEO)
All of this can be done without leaving Wix. Changes take weeks to months to show in search, so we follow impressions and clicks in Search Console and keep refining copy and structure.

Stay on Wix or migrate? How to decide
Most company and shop websites can build a solid SEO foundation on Wix. For some businesses, though, another platform is easier to run and pays off over time.
- Wix is fine: a few dozen pages, you already update Wix comfortably, and the goal is inquiries or bookings
- Consider moving: you plan hundreds of articles, want to grow a store with a large catalog, or need fine control over URLs and data
- Keep in mind: Wix has no export of a full site to another CMS, so a migration is close to a rebuild
A migration needs 301 redirects from every old URL, the content of your strongest pages carried over, and continuous tracking. Our page on migrating from Wix explains the process, and Wix website production covers rebuilding on Wix itself.
Seeing the improved site in a demo makes it much easier to tell whether Wix is enough.

FAQ
Is Wix bad for SEO?
That reputation is mostly outdated. Today's Wix lets you control titles, descriptions, redirects, structured data and more from the dashboard. When a Wix site ranks poorly, the cause is usually default settings or a page structure that does not match what people search for.
Does the free demo cost anything? What if we do not go ahead?
The demo is free. If you decide not to continue after seeing it, there is no charge. If you do, you get the scope, plan and estimate after the demo.
Will Wix SEO fixes guarantee higher rankings?
No one can promise a specific position, since search engines decide rankings. What we do is make your content clear to search engines and easy to find for the people looking for it. After launch we track changes in Search Console and keep adjusting.
What should we prepare?
Your current Wix site address is enough to start. If you know which inquiries you want more of or which search terms you want to be found for, tell us. When work begins, we may ask you to invite us as a collaborator on your Wix site.
Does it work remotely, by message only?
Yes. Wix settings and SEO work happen entirely online, so messages are all we need. You can write in Japanese or English, and we reply within two business days.
How long until we see the demo?
It depends on the number of pages and your goals. Once we have your URL and requests, we tell you the timeline up front, and you can click through the finished demo on a computer and a phone.
