Google Ads account setup service – everything from account to tracking, done once
A Google Ads account setup service suits businesses that want the account, billing, campaigns and conversion tracking built correctly once, and then plan to run the ads themselves. A weak setup spends budget on irrelevant clicks or runs for months without measuring results. Below: what a setup covers, the steps, the usual traps, and why UNANOBO starts with a free demo of your ad landing page.
- Free demo – decide after you see it
- By message, in Japanese or English
- One person from demo to launch

What a Google Ads setup service includes
A Google Ads setup service builds the foundation your ads need to run, in one go. After handover you manage budgets and bids day to day. Before you hire anyone, check that the scope covers all of this:
- Account creation: a company-owned Google account, time zone and currency, advertiser verification
- Billing: payments profile, payment method, who receives invoices
- Tracking: conversion actions, the Google tag, links to GA4 and Search Console
- Campaign build: locations, language, budget, bidding, keywords and negative keywords
- Ads and assets: responsive search ads, sitelinks, callouts, phone number
- Handover: a written summary of the setup and what to check every week
If you have a Google Business Profile, linking it as a location asset lets your ads show your address. If you want the basics of how ads and budgets work first, read how to start with Google Ads.
Seven setup mistakes that waste ad budget
Following the on-screen prompts gets ads running, but several defaults show them where you never meant to. If you built or inherited an account, check these points:
- The account was created in Smart Mode, so keywords and placements cannot be fine-tuned
- A search campaign still has the Display Network switched on
- Location settings include people merely "interested in" your area, so ads show far outside it
- No conversions are set up, or simple page views are counted as conversions
- Only broad match keywords, with no negative keywords at all
- Auto-applied recommendations are on and change settings without you noticing
- The account belongs to an agency, so its history disappears when the contract ends
Take care with currency and the payments profile type (business or individual): neither can be changed later, and the time zone is hard to change too.
We build a free demo of a page, based on your current site, that turns ad visits into inquiries.
Creating the account and setting up billing
Follow this order and you avoid most problems later. The work itself takes about an hour, but advertiser verification and payment approval can take a few days.
- Prepare a Google account: use a company email address that survives staff changes
- Create the account first: choose the option to skip the first campaign so you get full control of settings
- Confirm the basics: country, time zone and currency (Japan and yen for a Japanese business)
- Add a payments profile: business name and address, payment method, invoice recipient
- Complete advertiser verification: submit business details and documents when Google asks
- Grant access: invite whoever helps you as an admin or through a manager account link, and keep ownership yourself
Have ready: a company email, your business name and address, a payment card, and access to your site admin or Tag Manager. Google bills ad spend to you directly, so you never send ad money to whoever does the setup.

Building your first search campaign
Start with one search campaign and split ad groups by product or service type. Launching many campaigns at once spreads the budget thin and makes it hard to see what works.
- Networks: search only at first; add Display or search partners once you see results
- Location and language: target your prefecture, city or a radius, and only people located there
- Budget: set a daily budget; monthly charges are capped at roughly 30.4 times that amount
- Bidding: start with Maximize clicks or a similar strategy until tracking is proven, then move to a conversion-based strategy
- Keywords: phrase and exact match on terms close to a purchase or inquiry; exclude words like "free", "jobs" or "how to"
- Ad copy: several headlines (30 characters, or 15 full-width Japanese characters) and descriptions (90 characters), plus sitelinks and callouts
- Ad schedule: if you take calls, match delivery to your opening hours
Avoid claims such as "cheapest" or "No. 1" unless you can prove them. In Japan the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations applies to all ads, and medical, supplement and cosmetics advertisers also fall under the medical advertising guidelines or the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act. Rules are revised, so check the current official guidance. After launch, confirm no ad is "Disapproved".
Keywords are easier to pick when they match the page, so we shape both together around a free demo.
Conversion tracking and a handover you can run with
Tracking is where a professional setup pays off most. Register the actions you want more of – form submissions, phone taps, purchases, bookings – as conversions, and confirm with test submissions that the Google tag or Tag Manager records them correctly. If you use GA4, you can also import key events into Google Ads. The full steps are in conversion tracking setup.
If you will run the ads yourself, the quality of the handover decides how easy that is. At minimum, ask for:
- The campaign and ad group structure and the purpose of each
- The keyword and negative keyword lists, with rules for adding more
- How each conversion is defined and how to check it is recording
- The weekly numbers to watch: search terms report, cost, conversions, cost per click
- When to revisit budget and bidding
Excluding irrelevant queries from the search terms report weekly keeps wasted clicks down. For building an in-house routine, see bringing ad management in-house.
How UNANOBO sets up Google Ads: a free landing page demo first
Before any setup work, UNANOBO builds a free demo of the page your ads will link to, based on your current site and brand. You also get a proposed campaign structure and keyword approach, and you decide whether to go ahead with the setup after seeing both.
Everything is set up inside an account in your name, and ad spend is billed by Google directly to you. The process is free demo, feedback, launch, growth. The founder handles every project personally – the demo, the setup and the handover – and all communication runs by message in Japanese or English. If questions come up once you are running the ads, you can ask the same person.

FAQ
Does the free demo cost anything? What if I don't go ahead?
The demo is free. If you decide not to order the setup after seeing it, you pay nothing. You are welcome to use the proposed campaign structure to set things up yourself.
Can I order only the setup and run the ads myself?
Yes – this service is designed for exactly that. You receive a written summary of the setup and a weekly checklist, and we explain the dashboard by message. You can come back with questions only when you need to.
How long does the setup take?
It depends on your account and tracking, but one to two weeks is typical. Advertiser verification, ad review and adding tags to your site can each take a few days. We reply to messages within two business days.
What do I need to prepare?
A company email address, your business name and address, a payment card, and access to your site admin or Tag Manager are enough to start. Tell us which inquiries or products you want more of and which areas to target. Anything missing is listed for you at the beginning.
Can you review an account that already exists?
Yes. We keep your past data and review networks, locations, keywords and conversions, then list what should be fixed. If the account is held by a previous agency, the first step is moving admin rights to you.
Can we do everything without meetings?
Yes. Everything runs by message, in Japanese or English. For access rights you get step-by-step instructions that take a few minutes, and the messages keep a record of every setup decision.
