Website not generating leads? Find the cause and fix what matters most

Your website is live, yet the inquiries never come. Before you pay for a new design, check three things in order: can people find you, do they understand what you offer, and can they contact you without effort. This page walks through the causes and the fixes with the biggest impact – copy, buttons, forms, speed, SEO and ads – in the order that usually pays off.

  • Free demo – decide after you see it
  • By message, in Japanese or English
  • One person from demo to launch

See your site rebuilt for inquiries – free

Send us your current site address. We rework the copy, buttons and form into a free demo built to bring inquiries, and you decide after you have seen it.

  • We pinpoint why inquiries are not coming
  • Better copy and buttons on a real screen
  • A form that is easy to fill in on a phone

A phone number or an email address is enough – whichever suits you.

Four reasons a website is not generating leads

When a website is not generating leads, the cause almost always sits in one of four places, or in a mix of them.

  • Nobody finds it: very few visits from search, Google Maps or social media
  • The offer is unclear: within a few seconds on the home page, a visitor cannot tell who you serve, what you do and what happens if they hire you
  • No reason to choose you: no price guide, service area, process, or photos of the founder and the work
  • Contacting you is hard work: the button is hard to find, the form is long, typing on a phone is awkward, and there is no word on when you reply

Low traffic calls for more visitors. Healthy traffic with few inquiries calls for better content and a clearer path to contact. The fixes are completely different, so pinning this down first keeps your budget working.

Three numbers to check before you change anything

GA4 and Google Search Console show you where the problem is. If tracking is not set up yet, add it before any changes so you can compare before and after.

  • Monthly visits and sources: organic search, Maps, ads, social or direct
  • Most viewed pages: do visitors reach your service and pricing pages, or leave from the home page?
  • Inquiry rate: inquiries divided by visits, plus the gap between form page views and completed submissions

If many people open the form and few send it, look at the form. If few people reach the service pages, look at the copy and navigation. For a step-by-step check of your own site, use our website audit checklist.

Quick wins: the first screen and your call to action

The first screen a visitor sees and the main button usually give the biggest gain for the least effort. Most people decide right there whether to keep reading.

  • Use the headline to say whose problem you solve and how, in one line. Keep the slogan and company name secondary
  • Show early what people compare: area, scope, price guide, typical timeline
  • Replace "Submit" or "Contact" with words that describe the next step, such as "Get a free consultation" or "Request a quote"
  • Place the button on the first screen, after each service block and at the end of the page; on phones a sticky bottom button works well
  • Offer the channels your customers already use – phone, LINE, email

For a single page that receives ad traffic, our guide to landing page optimization covers headlines and structure in more depth.

Forms and speed: keep people at the last step

People who decide to get in touch and then give up usually stop at the form or at a slow page. Go through these points one by one.

  • Ask only for what you need – name, contact, message – and collect details later in the reply
  • Mark required fields clearly and show errors right next to the field
  • On phones, trigger a number keypad for phone fields and an email keyboard for email fields
  • After sending, say when you will reply, and send an automatic confirmation email
  • Keep spam protection on, and send a test inquiry regularly to make sure messages arrive
  • Compress images and remove unused plugins and scripts so the site loads fast on mobile

Broken forms and notification emails lost in spam folders are more common than most owners expect. See how to set up a contact form for the details. Google PageSpeed Insights checks your speed for free.

How to bring more visitors to your website

Once the content and the path to contact work, it is time to grow traffic. There are four main channels, each with its own timeline and cost pattern.

  • SEO: a page for each search that leads to work, such as service plus area. It takes months, and the results build up over time
  • MEO (Google Maps): strong for shops and local services. Complete your Google Business Profile, add photos and reply to reviews
  • Google Ads: appear at the moment someone searches and get visits from day one, for as long as the ads run
  • Meta Ads (Instagram, Facebook): reach people who are not searching yet, with photos and video

AI answers now recommend businesses too, so clear FAQs and an honest explanation of pricing help in both search and AI results. Our guide to website SEO explains the steps. Raise your inquiry rate before you start ads, and the same budget brings more inquiries.

FAQ

Is the demo really free?

Yes. Building the demo costs nothing, and if you decide not to continue, you pay nothing. If you go ahead, you receive a plan and an estimate after the demo.

Will a new design bring more inquiries?

Design helps most when the message and the path to contact improve with it, so the demo covers copy, buttons and form structure too. Results depend on your industry and traffic, so no specific number can be promised. After launch we keep measuring and adjusting.

Can you improve my current site without a full rebuild?

Yes. Depending on the CMS and structure, reworking the copy, buttons and form may be enough. After looking at your site, we suggest the most efficient scope.

What should I prepare?

Your current site address and the kind of inquiry you want more of – new consultations, bookings or quote requests. Read access to GA4 and Search Console helps pinpoint the cause more accurately.

How long does it take?

Typically a few weeks for copy, button and form fixes, and one to two months when the structure is rebuilt. You get the exact timeline in the plan after the demo. We reply to every message within two business days.

Does working remotely by message slow things down?

Everything runs by message in Japanese or English, and the demo arrives as a link you can open whenever it suits you. With one person as your contact throughout, nothing gets lost between people.
