Free website audit in Japan – find the issues and see the fixed site

No inquiries from the website, pages that feel slow, a company that is hard to find in search – you sense something is off, but the cause is hard to see from the outside. This page walks through the four areas a website audit covers, the free tools you can use today and how to decide what to fix first. At UNANOBO, the audit leads straight to a free demo of your site with the issues already solved.

  • Free demo – decide after you see it
  • By message, in Japanese or English
  • One person from demo to launch

A phone number or an email address is enough – whichever suits you.

What a website audit checks: four areas

A website audit asks three questions in order: can people find the site, will they read it, and will they act on it? Set personal taste in design aside and look at these four areas – the problems usually show up quickly.

  • Speed: how long pages take to open, image weight, loading on a mobile connection
  • Mobile: text size, tap-friendly buttons, no sideways scrolling, a phone number you can tap to call
  • SEO: page titles and descriptions, heading structure, indexing status, SSL
  • Conversions: how far the contact form is, how many fields it has, auto-reply emails, whether inquiries are tracked

Conversions are the area most often overlooked. Traffic means little if visitors never reach the form. Start with a simple table of these four areas and mark each one "fine", "worrying" or "don't know".

Signs your site needs a check-up

If any of these sound familiar, a website check is worth doing. Each looks minor on its own, but together they cost you opportunities.

  • On a phone, the screen stays blank for a while before anything loads
  • Searching for your company or service name does not bring your site near the top
  • The contact form has brought almost no inquiries in the past year
  • There is no GA4 or other tracking, so you cannot tell which pages people see
  • The browser shows "Not secure" next to your address
  • Nobody remembers when the content was last updated

Slow pages get closed before anyone reads them. And without tracking, you have no baseline to measure improvements against. If two or more points apply, start with the self-check below.

How to run a website check with free tools

Most of a website audit can be done with free tools from Google. Follow this order and you will have a clear overview in about thirty minutes.

  • PageSpeed Insights: enter your home page and main service pages and look at the mobile results. "Good" means LCP (main content visible) within 2.5 seconds, INP (response to taps) within 200 ms and CLS (layout shift) of 0.1 or less
  • Your own phone: go from the home page all the way to sending the form. Hard-to-tap buttons and unreadable tables show up here first
  • Google Search Console: if set up, check the Pages report for pages that are not indexed and why. If not, set it up now – it pays off later
  • How you look in search: search "site:yourdomain" and check that titles and descriptions match the pages, and that no outdated pages linger
  • Test the form: send yourself an inquiry and confirm the auto-reply arrives and the right person gets notified

PageSpeed scores shift a little every time you test, even on the same page. Focus on the listed opportunities, such as image optimization or unused JavaScript, more than on the number itself. For a deeper look at search, see our SEO audit checklist.

What the free demo gives you

  • 01A working demoA demo site you can open and click through on a computer and a phone.
  • 02A structure proposalWhich pages you need, what goes on each and where visitors get in touch.
  • 03Plan and estimateAfter you have seen the demo you get the plan to launch and an estimate.

Why it is safe to ask

  • The demo is free. If you decide not to go ahead, it costs you nothing.
  • Everything happens by message, in Japanese or English.
  • Your domain, hosting, ad and analytics accounts stay in your name.
  • The founder handles your project from the first demo to growth after launch – one contact all the way.

Demo sites we built

Template demos with fictional brands. Yours is built with your own brand and content.

Reading the results: quick fixes or a renewal

Once the check is done, sort what you found into two groups. This makes it much easier to decide where a limited budget should go.

  • Quick fixes: compressing heavy images, rewriting titles and descriptions, tap-to-call phone numbers, fewer form fields, enabling SSL
  • Structural issues: an old template that does not work on mobile, a CMS you cannot update, a site structure that buries the inquiry, pages whose roles overlap
  • Rule of thumb: two or more structural issues, or a CMS that no longer receives updates, usually means a renewal is less work than patching

Prioritize whatever sits closest to the inquiry. A broken form or hidden phone number affects results the day after you fix it. For practical ideas, read how to get more inquiries from your website.

Unsure whether to fix or rebuild?

Comparing your site with a free demo of the improved version makes the decision much easier.

How UNANOBO audits your site: from a URL to a free demo

Send UNANOBO the address of your current website and we review it across the same four areas: speed, mobile, SEO and conversions. Then we build a free demo of a new design that solves the issues we found. Seeing the improved site on screen explains what needs to change far better than a long report.

The process is simple: free demo, feedback, launch, growth. The founder handles every project personally, from the audit and demo to improvements after launch, and everything runs by message in Japanese or English. If you are already leaning towards a rebuild, see how a website renewal works.

FAQ

Are the audit and the demo really free?

Yes. Reviewing your current site and building the demo with the fixes applied costs nothing. A plan and estimate follow only after you have seen the demo.

What happens if I decide not to go ahead?

Nothing – you can simply stop there. There is no charge and no pushy follow-up. Feel free to use what you learned from the demo for your own site.

How long does it take?

We reply to every request within two business days. How long the demo takes depends on the size of your site, so we give you an estimate in that first reply.

What do I need to prepare?

Just your current website address. A short note on what bothers you – too few inquiries, hard to read on mobile – helps us focus the audit and the demo. No admin logins are needed at this stage.

Can you look at our analytics and Search Console data too?

Many issues are visible from the public site alone. For a deeper analysis, you can grant view access to GA4 or Search Console from your own account. The accounts stay in your name throughout.

Does this work well remotely, by message?

Yes. Audit findings and demo changes are shared as screenshots and links, so everything is easy to follow and forward inside your company. We work in Japanese or English, whichever suits you.
